High Unemployment Insurance Claims Remain Unchanged



In the week ending June 10, the advanced figures for seasonally adjusted initial claims were 262,000, the previous week’s level was up by 1,000 from 261,000 to 262,000.

The 4 week moving average was 246,750, an increase of 9,250 from the previous week’s revised average. This is the highest level for this average since November 20, 2021 when it was 249,250. The previous week’s average was up by 250 from 237,250 to 237,500.

The advance seasonally adjusted insured unemployment rate was 1.2 percent for the week ending June 3, unchanged from the previous week’s unrevised rate while the advanced number for seasonally adjusted insured unemployment during the week ending June 3 was 1,775,000, an increase of 20,000 from the previous week.

The 4 week moving average was 1,778,250, a decrease of 6,000 from the previous week’s revised average. The previous week’s average was also down by 500 from 1,784,750 to 1,784,250.

Advance State Claims

Important to note numbers for advanced state claim data are not seasonally adjusted.

When looking at claims on a state level, for the week ending June 10, Missouri reached 4,587, an increase of 925 compared to the previous week. Missouri’s level of insured unemployment for the week ending June 3 reached 17,364, an increase of 592 from the previous week.

As for Kansas, initial claims reached 1,274, an increase of just 179 compared to the previous week. Kansas’ level of insured unemployment for the week ending June 3 reached 5,241, an increase of 36 compared to last week.
