Great Jobs KC Awards Over 1,200 KC Metro Students $48M in Scholarships

Over 1,200 Kansas City metro area students received nearly $48 million in scholarships following a significant milestone for a local organization.

On Saturday, 1,210 students gathered from 87 high schools in the Kansas City area at the Kansas City Convention Center’s Grand Ballroom. Great Jobs KC, a KC Scholars organization, hosted its Make Your Mark event to recognize the students and celebrate its largest donation in history.

The event took place at the Kansas City Convention Center where each student formally received a $50,000 scholarship.

According to the organization, winners were chosen from a group of around 2,400 applicants.
