Former Sprint campus to receive major redesign

Current owner of the former Sprint campus, Wichita-based Occidental Management, has big renovation plans for the 200-acre Overland Park campus following Sprint’s merger with T-Mobile.

Following a merger with T-Mobile, Sprint’s once-thriving Sprint World Headquarters Campus located in Overland Park is set for a major makeover by current property owner Occidental Management.

Wichita-based commercial real estate developer Occidental Management has plans to renovate every building on the 200-acre campus which includes 17 buildings encompassing 3,900,000-square-feet.

Redesigning plans are to involve adding new glass buildings for a modernized look and, beyond corporate space, the developer hopes to build apartments, restaurants, add water features, green space and even entertainment venues.

However, approval must come from the Overland Park City Council before any of these changes can take place.

A new name for the campus has yet to be decided, and its new owner hopes to receive approval for the makeover and additions by this December.
