Dr. Anthony Facuci, who is director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and a member of the White House COVID-19 task force, says that there should be a vaccine for the pandemic by the end of the year.
In an interview with JAMA, he said that there would be multiple-million doses before 2021.
“By the beginning of 2021, we hope to have a couple of hundred million doses,” Fauci said.
President Donald Trump is aiming for 300 million doses of a vaccine by the end of the year, but Fauci has also cautioned that an outbreak could happen again and the vaccines might not protect people from an additional strain of COVID-19.
