Dick’s Sporting Goods, which has seven locations in the metro area, saw same-store sales drop in its first quarter by nearly 30 percent.
Management said that the same-store-sales drop of 29.5 percent was driven primarily by the spread of COVID-19. But e-commerce sales increased by 110 percent during the period, and with 44 percent of its stores open during the second quarter, same-store sales have actually increased, according to management.
However, the Pittsburgh-based retailer saw a $143.3-million loss during the quarter.
