LANE4 Property Group and the City of Olathe have announced a partnership to develop a restaurant project in downtown Olathe.
Austin’s Bar and Grill, which occupies a 100 year-old-building, will be renovated and add two rooftop patios. The space will transform into the County Square Commons, a development that includes over 10,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor restaurant space, according to a release.

“Downtown Olathe has arrived at a tipping point. After years of re-investment by the City and private developers, the vision for one of the most dynamic suburban downtown districts in the region is really coming together,” LANE4 Managing Partner, Michael Berenbom, said in a release. “With the City’s 80+ annual events and dynamic programming, we are excited to be in the heart of the action.”
The project is planned for 4 or 5 retail storefronts and will be anchored by Austin’s Bar & Grill, occupying the south endcap including a rooftop patio on the second floor. Fifth & Emery, a new-to-market frozen yogurt and chocolate shop, will occupy the north endcap.
Ongoing conversations are underway with local restaurants for the remaining storefronts, including the second rooftop patio.
Lane 4 will work with Harmon Construction and Slaggie Architects for the County Square Commons project.
