Coping with COVID: Mo. reports 9.2 percent of residents have received first dose of vaccine

Pushout of the COVID-19 vaccine is making progress in Missouri, the state reporting 9.4 percent of its population has received at least one dose as of Thursday mid-day. Missouri has now surpassed Kansas, which shows 8.5 percent of its residents have received the vaccine.

Once holding last nationally among states in the COVID-19 vaccine rollout, Missouri has made progress, boosting the number of residents who have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

As of Thursday mid-day, Missouri’s COVID-19 vaccine website shows 9.4 percent of the population has received at least one dose and 3.1 percent have received two doses.

This puts the Show-Me state ahead of neighboring Kansas, which reports 8.5 percent of Kansans have vaccinated as of Thursday mid-day, according to the state’s COVID-19 vaccine website.

In Missouri, data on the vaccine rollout shows 159,347 doses were administered between Feb. 2 and Feb. 8. Total doses administered including first and second doses currently sits at 764,378.

The number of Kansas residents vaccinated so far is at 248,977. A total of 552,775 doses have been distributed.

Total doses reported as administered in Kansas as of Thursday is 331,022. Of these, 248,997 are first doses and 82,045 are second doses.
