Missouri fell among only three U.S. states that reported a decline in new COVID-19 cases this past weekend compared to new case numbers from the week prior.

As of Saturday night, new cases were down in Missouri, Texas and South Carolina.
Twenty-one other states reported a rise in new cases while the remainder reported steady numbers in new cases compared to the week before.
The 21 states that reported a rise in new cases include Alaska, Connecticut, Delaware, Idaho, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusetts, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Wisconsin and Wyoming.
Friday, there were 54,506 new reported cases, according to Johns Hopkins University, the highest single day case number since 64,601 cases were reported on August 14.
The week’s mixed results rolled in showing 7.3 million people have tested positive for COVID-19 in the U.S. so far.
