Commerce Trust’s New Chief Market Strategist: KC Mathews, Formerly of UMB

KC Mathews has joined Commerce Trust, a division of Commerce Bank, as Chief Market Strategist, the company announced last week.

Mathews comes to Commerce Trust after 21 years at UMB Bank where he recently served as chief investment officer for 13 of his years there.

“We are truly excited to welcome KC to Commerce Trust,” chief investment officer of Commerce Trust, David Hagee said. “Adding KC’s experience and wealth of knowledge to our seasoned team of financial professionals will ensure we continue to leverage our investment expertise for our individual and institutional clients, with the ultimate goal of helping them navigate any economic cycle to achieve the financial futures they want.”

Mathews earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Minnesota in 1986 and a master’s in business administration from the University of Notre Dame in 1993.

He will also serve on Commerce Trust’s thought leadership team to articulate the firm’s views on investment and market activity in media interviews and public speaking events.
