Children’s Mercy Kansas City has unveiled its plans to build a new multi-specialty ambulatory clinic in Wichita.
The 18,000-square-foot facility will be located at the intersection of North Greenwich Road and East 28th Street North. The expansion will help address the growing needs of the community and serve more than 10,000 pediatric patients in the region, according to a release.
The Wichita expansion is expected to open in Summer 2026.
“This new larger clinic location deepens our promise to support children’s health and well-being in the region, and we’re excited to grow alongside the communities we serve to help all children reach their full potential,” president and CEO of Children’s Mercy, Dr. Alejandro Quiroga, said in a release.
Quiroga assumed the role of Children’s Mery’s president and CEO on January 2. He succeeded Paul Kempinski, who announced his retirement five years after working in the health system.
Since 2012, Children’s Mercy has been providing pediatric care in southeast Kansas for more than 30 specialty clinics, including Cardiology, Endocrinology and Nephrology. The new clinic will allow for additional specialty offerings in person and through telemedicine.
Children’s Mercy currently operates a clinic in Wichita located at 3243 E. Murdock Street.
“For thirteen years, we’ve delivered excellent, timely and coordinated care for families at Children’s Mercy’s Wichita ambulatory center,” president of regional operations, Dr. Amy Fallon, said in the release. “As a leading children’s health organization, we are thrilled to increase health care access for families in the Wichita community.”
