Cerner puts up large Riverport property for sale

By Madison Parry

Soon after putting its N. Oak Trafficway campus on the market, the healthcare IT company has listed its Riverport property at NE Birmingham Road for new occupancy or redevelopment. Cerner acquired the site in 2001 from Harrah’s, using it for support training and onboarding sessions.

Once home to Sam’s Town Gambling Hall, then Harrah’s Entertainment, and most recently Cerner Corp., the North Kansas City-based healthcare IT company has listed its Riverport property at 6711 NE Birmingham Road for sale.

The 32.4-acre property is listed through Colliers International and popped up on the market shortly following the listing of another Cerner property in February at 3315 N. Oak Trafficway.

Cerner’s Riverport site was bought from Harrah’s in 2001 and has since been used to support training and onboarding sessions. Now considered an excess property for Cerner, the property is listed without an asking price for new occupancy or redevelopment.

Located near the Missouri River at Interstate 435 and Missouri Highway 210, Riverport covers 74,881-square-feet of multipurpose building connected via skywalk to a six-story parking garage.

Included in the sale is a 12,000-square-foot warehouse, a 2,500-square-foot office building and a total of 2,235 parking spaces.

Built in 1995, the first floor of the main building includes three restaurant spaces, two kitchens, a large event space with high ceilings and original décor, two loading docks and one drive-in door. The second floor of the main building consists of training and conference rooms that have been updated.
