A new chief medical officer has been announced for Caravan Health, headquartered in Kansas City.
Caravan revealed in a Wednesday news release that Dr. Ashok Roy will serve as chief medical officer, bringing with him 20 years of experience in the health care industry.
Continuing his practice as an internal medicine physician, Dr. Roy’s prior experience includes work in population health, health care consulting and health care administration, according to the release. Dr. Roy’s most recent role was as chief medical officer at Lumeris.
At Lumeris, Dr. Roy led a team analyzing value-based payment opportunities and designing clinical programs, a job which also involved working with different practices and clinics to implement these clinical programs.

Dr. Roy comes to Caravan ready to lead our clinical strategy and products, all focused on improving care for patients and provider success,” Tim Gronniger, Caravan Health president and CEO, said. “He brings a deep expertise in how clinicians can connect operational, clinical, and business objectives in Caravan Health’s population health programs.”
