The first Buc-ee’s location in Kansas has officially broke ground in Wyandotte County.
The new 74,000 square foot Buc-ee’s is located at 110th Street and Village West Parkway, near the Kansas Speedway and Hollywood Casino. The iconic travel center is a hot spot for tourism as the company is investing more than $90 million into the project. The Texas-based company and city leaders expect the new location to bring in 4 to 5 million guests each year.
The station will also feature around 120 fueling stations and 12 electric-vehicle charging stations.
The location is expected to open in October 2027. In December 2023, Missouri opened a Buc-ee’s location in Springfield, the first station in the state. The Unified Government of Wyandotte County/Kansas City, Kansas, first approved plans for the KCK location in November 2024.
Buc-ee’s founder Arch Aplin III said the new Wyandotte county location will create over 200 jobs in the area that will pay between $17 to $20 an hour, with additional opportunities for nighttime and weekend wages. Manager positions at the location will earn six-figure salaries.
The Buc-ee’s KCK location will operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
