BPU Invites Proposals For Utility Sites In Kaw, Quindaro Areas



Kansas City, Kansas, Board of Public Utilities issues request for proposal for two utility sites in Kaw and Quindaro.

The Kansas City, Kansas, Board of Public Utilities issued two requests for proposal last week which include sites in both Kaw and Quindaro.

The Kaw power station at 2015 Kansas Ave. and the Quindaro power station at 3601 N. 12th St. are available for developers to purchase or lease. Both sites are currently inactive. The Kaw site is approximately 12.9 acres and the Quindaro site is about 38.49 acres.

According to the request for proposal, a term for either lease would be 25 years and any purchase made must be approved by the Unified Government of Wyandotte County. Developers are required to begin work on site within two years after the purchase of the property, otherwise, the property will be returned to BPU and the UG.
