The St. Louis-based BJC Healthcare reported a net income of $443.7 million for the year to date ahead of the $10 billion merger with Saint Luke’s.
The healthcare system released its quarterly financial report with figures showing an operating income of $115 million for the year to date ending June 30. When comparing the figure to the same time in 2022, the BJC operated with a loss of $20.5 million.
Overall income increased from a loss of $272.7 million to a net income of $443.7 million.
Expenses for the system also experienced a bump of $279.5 million compared to last year, totaling $3.3 billion ending June 30.
The Kansas City, MO.-based Saint Luke’s Health System is expected to merge with BJC later this year, the two companies announced in May.
