Kansas City-based Bishop-McCann announced it has acquired event and incentive travel company, MTI Events.

The acquisition bolsters Bishop-McCann’s incentive travel capabilities in a move that will add seasonal talent and new perspectives to their client services, according to a release. The acquisition comes when the incentive travel sector is experiencing growth. The 2024 Incentive Travel Index shows 58% of senior leadership view incentive travel as playing a more distinct role in motivation and culture building.

“This is more than a business move; it’s a values match,” CEO of Bishop-McCann, Rob Adams, said in the release. “We’ve long admired MTI Events for its people-first philosophy, deep incentive expertise, and ability to deliver memorable, joyful experiences. Bringing MTI into the Bishop-McCann team allows us to serve our clients with even greater creativity, scale, and strategic insight.”

MTI Events is a female-owned incentive company located in Overland Park. Founded over 35 years ago, MTI specializes in travel incentive programs, meeting planning, special events and team building services.

“Joining forces with Bishop-McCann gives us the opportunity to elevate our work even further, combining our expertise with theirs to deliver world-class incentive programs that truly inspire,” president of MTI Events, Melissa DeLeon, said in the release.

As part of the acquisition, Adams will continue to lead the company and DeLeon will serve as Bishop-McCann’s Strategic Advisor of Incentive Travel.
