The annual Kansas City fundraiser for Children’s Mercy had a bit of different twist this year, turning to online streaming and taking the name “Big Slick At Home” as a result of COVID-19 concerns.
Donations were generous this year despite the big change, the event managing to raise its third highest total since its start back in 2010.
Returning big-name actors that founded the event made an appearance on the several events that streamed throughout the duration of the fundraiser which lasted from June 5 to June 14. Hosts included Rob Riggle, Paul Rudd, Eric Stonestreet, Jason Sudeikis and David Koechner.
Each night of the 10-day event showed hosts sharing clips of past events along with links to livestreams. A variety of guest stars made an appearance as well.
This year’s total came to just over $2 million, according to a post on Big Slick’s Twitter page. In its 11 years, the event has raised more than $12 million for Children’s Mercy, said another tweet at the conclusion of the event yesterday.
