Biden $1,400 stimulus package likely to see February approval

A proposed COVID-19 relief package from President-elect Biden entails $1,400 stimulus checks for an overall $1.9 trillion plan. Under a Biden administration, analysts guess the package could be approved as early as February.

President-elect Joe Biden announced his coronavirus relief package last week which includes $1,400 stimulus checks for eligible U.S. residents.

This week, the country will move one step closer to seeing that proposal become an action plan as Biden and two new Democratic senators from Georgia take office.

Once that happens, Democrats will be in control of the presidency and Congress — giving the $1.9 trillion plan a good chance for passage.

However, the process may take more time than some officials expect. Analysts say that a one-off bill focusing only on stimulus checks might be passed quickly. Something totaling nearly $2 trillion may take days if not weeks of debate and discussion.

Many experts say early February would likely be the earliest we could see a package approved.
