B&B Theatres is permanently closing its location in the downtown Power & Light District.
B&B Theatres made the announcement via social media on Sunday. An official closure date and further details were not disclosed.
“B&B routinely reviews the theatres in our circuit and makes decisions based on what will best strengthen the Company going forward,” the company said in a Facebook post. “After thoughtful review, we have made the decision to exit this location. We are deeply grateful to our Mainstreet KC guests for their loyalty and support over the years. It has truly meant so much to us. We encourage you to continue enjoying the B&B experience at our other Kansas City locations in Shawnee, Overland Park, Liberty, Lee’s Summit, Harrisonville, Grain Valley and Leavenworth.”
The movie theater chain originally opened its doors for the 1400 Main St. location in September 2021. Before B&B, the theater building was occupied by Alamo Drafthouse. The theater featured six screens and could seat around 350 guests.
