Animal Health International has plans to expand the company’s headcount and space in Liberty.

Animal Health International announced it will expand its presence in Liberty from 95,000 square feet and 40 employees to 225,000 square feet and 65 employees over time, according to a release from the City of Liberty.

The current facility Animal Health International occupies is located in the Heartland Meadows Industrial Park. The facility operates at 92-98% capacity and cannot facilitate any more growth.

The new building, located at Liberty Heartland Logistics Center is almost three times the size, allowing the company to merge its previous warehouse and storage space.

“Liberty has been great to AHI, and we want to be a part of this community in the future,” Jim Reed, regional operations manager, said in the release. “It’s a town with incredible work ethic that creates lots of career opportunities for the residents, and we’re proud to play a role in their success.”

Animal Health International, a subsidiary of Patterson Companies, Inc., has worked in the Liberty warehouse since 2006 and is part of the KC Animal Health Corridor, a concentration of more than 300 animal health companies in the region. In August, the Kansas City Area Development Council announced another KC Animal Health Corridor member Elanco Animal Health Inc. would invest $130 million in a new facility in Elwood adding 70 new jobs.
