Amazon employees in Mo., Kan. receive on-site COVID vaccine

By Madison Parry

The e-commerce giant has begun an on-site vaccination program for employees at its fulfillment centers in a few states including Missouri and Kansas. The program is being carried out in partnership with local government as well as private and public health officials in KCMO, KCK and beyond.

Amazon employees in Kansas City, Mo., Kansas City, Kan. and other areas across Missouri and Kansas can now participate in an on-site COVID-19 vaccination program put on by the company and local government.

The multinational e-commerce giant started the program last week for its warehouse employees across areas of Missouri, Kansas and Nevada.

As more COVID-19 vaccines and supplies become available, Amazon intends to expand the program to other warehouse employees nationwide.

The program is being run with assistance from local governments as well as private and public health officials.

Kansas City-area Amazon facilities with program-eligible employees include one in Kansas City, Mo., Kansas City, Kan., Edgerton, Gardner, Lenexa and Shawnee.

Over the last year, Amazon built its own in-house COVID-19 testing program. Employees are offered free COVID-19 testing, as some employees did not have access to testing through their communities.
