Airbnb Announces Anti-Party Crackdown for Summer Holidays

Airbnb announced it will be reimplementing its anti-party system for the upcoming Memorial Day and Fourth of July celebrations.

The system was established last year and garnered success as Airbnb recorded a decrease in disruptive or unauthorized parties. Specifically in Missouri, over 200 people were deterred from booking entire home listings over Memorial Day weekend due to these defenses, according to Airbnb.

The system looks into guests’ accounts to verify if they are indeed at high risk for throwing a party in one-night or two-night booking attempts for entire homes. Review history, listing distance and last-minute bookings are among the factors the system accounts for.
