AdventHealth Lenexa City Center, slated to open in July, has named Dr. Mark Brady as its chief medical officer.

Brady has served for the past 27 years as a physician anesthesiologist for Midwest Anesthesia Associates on the AdventHealth Shawnee Mission campus, according to a release. He has been an anesthesiologist at AdventHealth since 1998 and has held various leadership and volunteer roles within the organization.

In his new role, Brady will oversee clinical operations at the $247 million AdventHealth Lenexa City Center. When completed, the hospital will be the first and only inpatient hospital in Lenexa, with 96 beds — 44 beds on opening and 54 beds for future expansion — and four operating rooms. The new center will create an estimated 170 jobs in the clinical and non-clinical fields.

“I’m honored to have Dr. Mark Brady join the leadership team at AdventHealth Lenexa City Center,” president of the AdventHealth Lenexa City Center, Sissel Jacob, said in the release. “Dr. Brady’s commitment to safe, effective and compassionate patient care is evident in his work and in the way he serves the organization, and we look forward to his leadership in this new role.”

Brady earned his medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine. He completed both a residency in anesthesiology and an internship in internal medicine at the University of Kansas School of Medicine in Wichita.

In February, the AdventHealth Lenexa City Center added two executive positions to its leadership. Rodney Allen II was named vice president and chief financial officer, while Teresa Noland took the role of vice president and chief nursing officer for the imminent hospital.
