Five public schools, five city governments, one university, and one public hospital are being awarded nearly $3 million in low-interest loans for energy efficiency and renewable energy projects by The Missouri Department of Economic Development’s Energy Division.
The funded projects—expected to result in an annual energy savings of about $426,810—will be repaid with money saved on energy costs resulting from upgrades and improvements.
Since 1989, more than 571 such loans have been awarded, resulting, said the Department of Economic development, in more than $99 million in completed energy efficiency projects and more than $181 million in estimated energy savings.
