McGladrey Names New KC Office Managing Partner



 

The Kansas City office of McGladrey, the nation’s fifth-largest provider of assurance, tax and consulting services, announced today that board member and tax partner Ed Bartak had been named office managing. He replaces Tom Rourick, who has been tabbed to lead the assurance practices in McGladrey’s Houston office.Ed Bartak

“In addition to serving as a strategic leader on our board of directors, Ed has led our local and regional tax and Kansas City construction industry practices,” Kevin Prien, regional managing partner, said in a statement announcing the appointment. “I know Ed’s commitment to growth and client service excellence will continue in his new leadership role as office managing partner.”

Bartak has more than 25 years of experience in tax, business and accounting services, the firm said, with a deep background in tax planning, business consulting, merger and acquisition planning, due diligence, estate planning, resolution of accounting method issues, and assistance with IRS and state tax examinations. An accounting major as an undergraduate at Northern Illinois University, he also he earned his MBA, from the University of St. Francis.

 

The Kansas City office has 154 employees, including 11 partners and principals.
