NKC Health has announced its first new leadership appointment following the health system’s rebrand, with Dr. Ian Rosbrugh named as the medical staff president.

Rosbrugh began his new one-year term for the new role on July 1, according to a release. He is a urogynecologist and reconstructive pelvic surgeon with NKC Health Urogynecology, which he joined last fall.

Rosbrugh succeeds Dr. Collin Lovitt, a hospitalist with NKC Health Hospitalists.

Prior to joining the new NKC Health, Rosbrugh worked with the Meritas Health Pavilion for Women in 2007. He has chaired several hospital committees, including the Department of Surgery, Maternal-Child Services and Surgical Advisory. Additionally, he has chaired the Medical Executive Committee for over a decade.

“Health care is evolving fast — markets are shifting, expectations are changing and financial pressures are growing,” Rosbrugh said in the release. “Part of my role is to help us navigate these challenges by advocating for our staff, staying grounded in our mission, and supporting the changes we need to keep moving forward. We’re a strong institution and staying strong means continuing to evolve.”

NKC Health, formerly known as North Kansas City Hospital and Meritas Health, officially rebranded in June. The health system hopes the change will help enforce a unified system between the hospitals.

NKC Health has over 4,700 staff members, including over 600 dedicated physicians, across 35 locations.
