The Brain Injury Association of Kansas and Greater Kansas City (BIAKS) invites you to a private screening of “Concussion,” the newly released movie thriller receiving Oscar buzz and being described by critics as “inspiring” and “thoroughly entertaining.”
Will Smith, stars in this ground breaking movie as Bennett Omalu, M.D., the pathologist who is credited with discovering the link between repeated concussions and chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE), a progressive degenerative disease of the brain found in people who have received repetitive brain trauma.
The showing will be followed by an important discussion with a panel of experts in concussion and brain injury.
A minimum donation of $8 for adults and $5 for youth is required for admission into the movie. Seating is limited, and is on a first come, first serve basis.
Proceeds from this event will go directly toward the BIAKS and be used to fund vital programs that support brain injury survivors in our area and the professionals who treat them.
