Due to the success of last year’s event, the KC Blind All-Stars Foundation (KCBAS) 5K Run/1 Mile Walk will be a hybrid event again this year and will take place on Saturday, September 24, 2022. The annual event supports the Kansas State School for the Blind (KSSB).
“We have realized that our supporters come from near and far,” said Jon Harding, KSSB Superintendent. “We want to make sure everyone who wants to participate has the opportunity to do so. Our impact goes well beyond the state of Kansas, so families everywhere can join us!”
KCBAS provides support to KSSB for travel to competitions, equipment for the Athletic teams, and improvements to the athletic facilities. All proceeds from this year’s hybrid run/walk will go toward replacing the school’s existing gym floor. Last year’s event raised (half) the funds needed to replace the floor and the push this year is to solidify the monies to create an environment of inclusion and normalcy to the families that KSSB serves.
