Pennsylvania first state to face election lawsuit

The first of many anticipated election lawsuits was filed against Pennsylvania on Tuesday by the Trump administration. Suspicions of voter fraud in several U.S. states led to the lawsuit in the Keystone State as well as a call for a ballot recount in Georgia.

As news of alleged voter fraud circles in the U.S., the Trump campaign administration is has already begun to take action just over one week since Election Day.

While final race results for the presidential race have still not been called, some states have attracted particular attention for alleged ballot fraud and other voting irregularities.

Several Pennsylvania counties are now facing an election lawsuit filed by the Trump campaign on Monday.

The 105-page lawsuit was filed just one day before the deadline for counties to submit results to the Department of State, and asks that the court block the state of Pennsylvania and its several targeted counties from certifying the results of the election.

Although the lawsuit in Pennsylvania was the first to go through while lawsuits in Georgia, Michigan and Nevada were rejected, a large enough push in Georgia has resulted in the call for a statewide ballot recount.

In response to strong allegations of voting irregularities, Georgia’s Secretary of State, Brad Raffensperger, announced Wednesday that the state will work with each of its counties to conduct a manual hand recount of all ballots cast in the presidential race.

The deadline for certifying statewide election results is Friday, Nov. 20.
