Headquartered in Kansas City, Kan., Dairy Farmers of America 2019 revenue has pushed the national milk marketing company up to second among the nation’s largest cooperatives according to a ranking by the National Cooperative Bank Co-op 100.

Noted among the top 100 Co-ops in the U.S., regionally headquartered Dairy Farmers of America (DFA) has shifted in an annual ranking by National Cooperative Bank.

The Kansas City, Kan.-based milk marketing company is now considered the second largest cooperative in the nation based on 2019 revenue numbers.

Each year, a list called the National Cooperative Bank Co-op 100 announces the 100 top cooperatives in America.

The list highlights the business activity and economic power of member-owned and controlled businesses, and is used as an indicator of cooperative impact across the U.S.

Revenue totals from the list reveal DFA brought in $15.9 billion in 2019, though DFA’s total still shows it well below the top ranked largest co-op, CHS Inc. in Minnesota.

Another Kansas City, Kan. headquartered cooperative made the National Cooperative Bank Co-op 100 list this year, Associated Wholesale Grocers Inc. (AWG), landing at No. 5.

Revenue totals in 2019 for AWG was $9.7 billion, according to the list.
