Overland Park-based SelectQuote expects to keep majority of 2,000 new hires on full-time

In preparation for the Medicare Annual Enrollment Period, the Kansas City-area company brought on around 2,000 new associates to its team of internal agents, the company planning to retain the majority of the new hires as full-time employees at the end of the enrollment period.

Headquartered in Overland Park and holding a presence in the Kansas City metro since 1985, SelectQuote recently announced that the majority of its 2,000 new hires brought in for the Medicare Annual Enrollment Period will be retained.

The company expects to keep a large portion of the new associates and bring them on full-time at the end of the enrollment period, adding to its existing team of 100 percent internal agents, the company said in a Monday news release.

Most of the new associates are licensed sales agents who will help customers navigate health insurance options. Other hires include Enrollment Specialists and Customer Care Associates.

While many of the hires will continue to support the Senior division, others will support sales of the company’s life, final expense, and auto & home policies and will return to the Senior division during next year’s AEP, the release said.
