Missouri National Guard to remain mobile through Dec. 30

Gov. Mike Parson signed an executive order Wednesday extending the mobilization of the Missouri National Guard through the end of December to assist in the state's COVID-19 response effort.

On Wednesday, Missouri Gov. Mike Parson signed an executive order that will keep the Missouri National Guard mobile through the end of December.

Executive Order 20-16 has extended the mobilization of the state’s National Guard through Dec. 30, 2020 and will continue the guard’s task in assisting in Missouri’s COVID-19 response effort.

“The National Guard has played a major role in supporting state and community response efforts, including COVID-19 testing support, supply and equipment transportation, and meal distribution just to name a few,” Parson said. “This Executive Order will allow the Guard to continue assisting the people of Missouri as we move forward.”

Prior to Executive Order 20-16, Gov. Parson had signed Executive Order 20-06 in March which began the mobilization of the Missouri National Guard for COVID-19 efforts, leading to a different order extending the mission through Sept. 15, and eventually the most recent executive order signed today.
