New KC Home Listings Up, But Still a Major Drop

New home-listing sales pending are up week over week by 4.5 percent in the Kansas City metro area, according to Zillow, which might show a slight rebound in the housing market.

But it’s not a major correction in the downturn of people buying new houses compared to last year, as of May 3.

The new-home listings tracked by Zillow were still down 36 percent year over year in Kansas City, though that is lower than the 39.2-percent national average.

Average listing prices, at $351,432, are up 3.8 percent year over year
