Commerce Bank announced it has closed the acquisition of Nolan & Associates, a St. Louis-based investment banking firm.

Nolan & Associates will retain its leadership team, employees and Brentwood, Missouri office, ensuring continuity for clients and team members, according to a release.

The acquisition will boost Commerce’s investment banking capabilities and its ability to support business owners through growth, acquisition, capital-raising and ownership transition decisions. Commerce announced its plans to buy the St. Louis-based firm in June.

“We are pleased to welcome Nolan & Associates to Commerce,” Bob Holmes, chairman and CEO of Commerce Bank – St. Louis, said in the release. “Nolan has built an outstanding reputation for trusted advice, deep industry knowledge and long-term client relationships. Their addition strengthens our ability to serve middle-market companies and business owners with a broader range of strategic and financial advisory services.”

Founded in 1976, Nolan & Associates is a middle-market boutique investment banking firm, serving business owners, private equity groups, and corporations. The firm has completed over 500 transactions, according to its LinkedIn page.
