Overland Park-based QII has appointed four new positions to its legal and real estate team, which will expand the firm’s site acquisition and deal structuring capabilities.

The new additions include Paul Dominick, Marc Russell, Michael Smilow, and Logan Miller, according to a release. The team will report directly to general counsel and chief commercial officer, Alex Rose, who joined QII ahead of its May 2026 launch.

QII is a growth venture of Quality Growth Companies, which Rose has been a part of since December 2025, according to his LinkedIn.

“Paul, Marc, Michael, and Logan know how to identify issues early and make the right decisions to prioritize the communities we’re building with,” Rose said in the release. “Their experience strengthens our work at every stage of development.”

Dominick is now associate general counsel of real estate and will oversee legal and transaction matters supporting QII’s infrastructure development. He previously served at QTS Data Centers, where he advised on real estate and development for large-scale data center projects.

Russell, who also now serves as associate general counsel of real estate, has more than two decades of real estate law experience. He previously held roles at QTS Data Centers and Kansas City-based investment company Worcester Investments.

Smilow will serve as associate general counsel of construction and design. He will guide legal strategy for QII’s development and construction programs. With more than 20 years as a construction lawyer, Smilow most recently served at Related Companies, headquartered in New York, as senior vice president and general counsel for design and construction.

Miller is now the vice president of real estate and leads site strategy and execution for QII’s developments. He previously held real estate leadership roles at QTS Data Centers and Greenlight Data Centers, supporting land and asset acquisitions for major projects.

QII expects to announce its first development sites later this year, according to the release.

“Alex is building a group of entrepreneurial-minded individuals with world class experience who also understand the importance of being strong community builders,” Chad Williams, chairman and CEO of QII, said in the release. “It’s good to welcome new people and bring old associates back to the family.”
