First Washington Realty LLC Acquires Liberty Corners, a 56,000SF Retail Center

Maryland-based real estate investment firm First Washington Realty has acquired the Liberty Corners retail center in the Kansas City area as part of a larger transaction valued at $65 million.

First Washington Realty announced the acquisition of Liberty Corners along with The Village of Blaine, a shopping center in the Minneapolis-St. Paul metro area. The acquisition of the two shopping centers in Minnesota and Missouri has a combined value in excess of $65 million, according to a Friday release.

Liberty Corners is a 124,808-square-foot center that is anchored by a 56,000-square-foot Cosentino’s Price Chopper located along Highway 291 in Liberty, Missouri. Other businesses featured in the center include Chipotle Mexican Grill and The Big Biscuit. The center has 22 available spaces for tenants, with 2 available for lease, according to First Washington Realty’s website.

The Village of Blaine is a 220,685-square-foot grocery-anchored shopping center with approximately 3.3 million annual visits.

“We are thrilled to acquire The Village of Blaine and Liberty Corners, both of which are exceptional grocery-anchored centers that serve as essential retail destinations within their respective communities,” Amrit Chase, senior vice president of investments at First Washington Realty, said in a release.

Following the acquisition, First Washington Realty has increased its portfolio to 21.9 million square feet across 21 states. The release did not disclose further financial details of the transaction. The company’s national portfolio now consists of 139 open-air properties totaling more than 21.9 million square feet across 21 states and Washington, D.C., managing approximately $9.1 billion of assets.

Prior to its latest Liberty acquisition, First Washington Realty had already established its footprint in the Kansas City area market. The firm operates five other Kansas City area properties, including Shops At Fairway, The Shops of Prairie Village, Corinth Square and Corinth Quarter in Kansas, as well as the Brookside Shops in Missouri.
