Swope Health announced it had received a $5 million donation from the Sunderland Foundation that will support the Swope Health Village and its Women’s & Children’s Center.

The donation is contributing funding to two major Swope Health projects, according to a release. How the funding gift will be divided between the two projects was not disclosed.

“This gift is a powerful validation of our ‘P.A.T.H. to 2030’ strategic plan,” Jeron Ravin, president and CEO of Swope Health, said in the release. “By anchoring the Swope Health Village and bolstering our Women’s and Children’s services, the Sunderland Foundation is helping us build a holistic, purpose-driven ecosystem that will uplift families and seniors for generations to come.”

The first is Swope Health Village, a 12-acre, $130 million facility that was first announced in 2025. The facility is a multi-phased residential and healthcare campus located on the 5900 block of Swope Parkway. At the time of its announcement, the City of Kansas City also announced it had allocated $5 million for the project. The development offically broke groung in August 2025.

Upon completion, the campus will comprise 200 units of senior affordable housing and 75 units of mental health housing. Additionally, 15 apartments will support participants in Swope Health’s Programs of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly.
