Van Trust Real Estate announced it has completed the Platte International Commerce Center and will be leasing its latest building to Purina Animal Nutrition.
The Class A distribution center consists of 1.67 million square feet of industrial space on 150 acres located at 4400 MO 92-Hwy in Platte City. Van Trust first broke ground on the facility in April 2023.
Purina Animal Nutrition will be occupying Building D of the distribution center. The company has leased the final 397,000 square feet, according to a KC Area Development Council release. Purina is a manufacturer and distributor of feeds, supplements, premixes, ingredients and specialty technologies for livestock. Purina is a subsidiary of Arden Hills, Minnesota-based Land O’Lakes, Inc.
“This is an important milestone for Purina Animal Nutrition and our continued growth,” Nick Najjar, senior logistics director for Land O’Lakes, Inc., said in the release. “This investment strengthens our ability to serve customers across the region with greater speed, efficiency and reliability, and we’re grateful to our development partners for helping bring this project to life.”
VanTrust leased the first two buildings as part of the Platte International Commerce Center to Central Power Systems & Services in 2024 and 2025. Building B, a nearly 749,000-square-foot space, was sold to Stag Industrial in February 2026.
“Platte International Commerce Center is an outstanding distribution center for companies looking to maximize their logistics efficiency with close proximity to an international airport and major freight distribution markets,” Grant Harrison, VanTrust executive vice president of development, said in the release. “The center’s completion testifies to the growth and vitality of the Kansas City metropolitan area.”
JLL led the leasing assignment for VanTrust. Whiting Turner Contracting Company led the design-build team for Platte International Commerce Center, which includes Olsson Engineers and M+H Architects.
