A warehouse and manufacturing facility located in Shawnee is near completion and already has a tenant ready to claim it as a new headquarters.

During the Shawnee City Council meeting, members approved the issuance of taxable industrial revenue bonds of $11.4 million for an 83,600-square-foot warehouse facility at 5327 Martindale St. The project was first announced in 2024 and dubbed Project Zenith. At the time, a tenant for the proposed building was not yet identified.

Construction of the facility is nearly complete. Mission-based Stag Commercial led the development of the project.

Occupying the new space is Insco Industries Inc. Insco was founded in 1984 and purchased by the current president, Matt Hurd, in 2001. Insco is a specialty construction and manufacturing company that specializes in insulation, painting, coating, and flooring needs in both industrial and commercial applications.

Insco is currently occupying a space at 5300 Martindale St. in Shawnee. The company also has a coating division located at 15424 Andrews Rd in Kansas City.
