Burns & McDonnell has named Rashmi Menon its first chief people officer as well as four other new leadership appointments.
Menon previously served as vice president and general manager of Burns & McDonnell’s California region, joining the firm in 2020. During her time in California, she led more than 300 professionals to design and build critical infrastructure in hundreds of communities.
Menon will begin transitioning into her new role this summer, according to a release.
During the transition period, she will continue supporting leadership continuity for the California Region, where Pablo Lorenzo will succeed Menon as general manager. Lorenzo, a vice president, has assumed increasing leadership responsibilities since joining the firm in 2018.
“I am honored to step into this role and partner with teams across the globe who are dedicated to helping our employee-owners thrive,” Menon said in a release. “Together, we will continue helping our employee-owners feel empowered to do high-quality work while delivering exceptional results for our clients and communities.”
As part of her new role, Menon will lead the firm’s community impact, events & programs, human resources, corporate communications and people change management teams.
“Rashmi is an exceptional leader who combines strong business acumen with a deep commitment to developing and empowering others,” Leslie Duke, chair and CEO of Burns & McDonnell, said in the release. “Throughout her career, she has built high-performing teams and inspired those around her to achieve their highest potential.”
In addition to Menon’s promotion, the firm announced several other key leadership promotions.
The newly promoted officers include:
