Franke Schultz & Mullen, P.C., a Kansas City-based law firm with more than two dozen attorneys, has been acquired by a Georgia-based an Am Law 200 firm.
Freeman Mathis & Gary, LLP (FMG) announced that the 28 attorneys and 20 staff from Franke Schultz & Mullen (FSM) will join its firm. This acquisition expands FMG’s Midwest presence by adding new offices in Kansas City, St. Louis and Springfield. FSM’s Kansas City office is located at 8900 Ward Pkwy.
The new attorneys add trial-tested depth and broaden FMG Law’s Midwest litigation bench, enhancing the Firm’s ability to handle complex matters across the region, according to a release.
In 1992, John Franke and John Schultz established Franke & Schultz. However, John Mullen was quickly hired as the firm’s first attorney and would become a partner in 2022. FSM specializes in civil litigation, product liability, insurance defense and coverage as well as bad faith and vexatious refusal claims.
“Joining FMG Law provides an opportunity to build on our foundation and expand the reach of our services,” Franke said in the release. “We share a commitment to superior client service and proven trial excellence, and this combination allows us to continue delivering positive results while offering our existing clients access to greater resources and a national platform.”
