The Kansas City Art Institute has named Jim Harrington as its new chief financial officer.

Harrington joined the KCAI as CFO on April 16, according to a release. He brings with him more than 30 years of experience in guiding organizations through financial growth.

Most recently, Harrington served as the CFO of Spare Time Entertainment. During his time as a Spare, he overhauled the company’s financial operations by introducing more efficient systems and improving its long-term budgeting. He also brings with him experience in the Kansas City education landscape, serving as the CFO for The Barstow School.

“Our mission is to educate future artists, and while we take that seriously, we should have fun doing it,” Harrington said in the release. “KCAI has a long, storied history. I look forward to building on that foundation and making it better, bigger, faster, and stronger.”
