The Olathe City Council has approved a rezoning request for the site of a new Dillons grocery store.
Council members voted 7-0 in favor of rezoning the Business Park District to Community Center District, located southwest of College Boulevard and S. Lone Elm Road near the Olathe Northwest High School. The site is a part of Sunnybrook Business Park 4th Plat on approximately 14.11 acres.
Development plans for Dillons at Sunnybrook include a 99,982 square foot full-service grocery store with a 14-pump gas station and drive-through pharmacy. The site was originally annexed in 1996 and has remained undeveloped since it was zoned to the BP District in 1998 as part of the 314-acre Sunnybrook development.
In February, a public hearing was held where the Olathe Planning Commissioners voted 7-0 to recommend approval for the development.
Pickering Firm Inc. is the civil engineer, Naos Design Group is the architect and DT Design Studio is the landscape architect for the Dillons at Sunnybrook project, according to city documents.
The Dillon at Sunnybrook store is expected to open in fall 2027.
