Black & Veatch announced Gregory Lewis is joining the company as the new chief strategy officer.
Lewis will focus on the execution of long-term growth strategies across Black & Veatch’s portfolio of sectors. He brings more than 20 years of experience in corporate strategy in several industries, including energy, utilities, industrials and chemicals.
“The firm’s employee-owned culture, technical depth and global reach create a powerful platform for growth and innovation,” Lewis said in a release. “I look forward to partnering with the leadership team to help shape the company’s long-term strategy and deliver meaningful value for clients and employee-owners.”
Lewis will report to Patrick Hogan, chief business evolution officer, and will be based in the company’s Overland Park headquarters.
Most recently, Lewis served as the director of strategy insight and analytics at Eastman Chemical Company for five years in Tennessee. He was also the head of North American strategy and mergers and acquisitions for Philips Lighting—now rebranded to Signify—for over three years.
Lewis began his career in nuclear power engineering, holding leadership roles at Northrop Grumman Newport News, where he supervised engineering teams supporting U.S. Navy nuclear aircraft carrier programs, according to the release.
“His [Lewis] background in enterprise strategy, M&A and operational execution will be instrumental as we continue to evolve our portfolio and help clients address increasingly complex challenges across energy, water, data centers, advanced manufacturing and government infrastructure,” Black & Veatch CEO, Mario Azar, said in the release.
Earlier this week, Black & Veatch announced its subsidiary, Bird Electric, selected Katie Werner as its new president.
