The KC Streetcar Authority, Port KC and CPKC will unveil plans for the End of the Line Streetcar Station and CPKC Pavilion on Saturday.

The $5 million End of the Line Streetcar Station and CPKC Pavilion will serve as the new northern terminus of the 6.5-mile expanded KC Streetcar system, improving passenger experience and access to Berkley Riverfront.

The KC Streetcar Authority will hold a news conference on Saturday, November 22, at 10 a.m. The conference will be located at the PortKC Office at 110 Berkley Plaza, Kansas City, MO 64120.

“Together with Port KC and CPKC, we’re building an end-of-line station that truly reflects the important role this streetcar stop will play in connecting our system to all of Berkley Riverfront for years to come,” said Tom Gerend, Executive Director of the KC Streetcar Authority.

The KC Streetcar Authority hopes the new CPKC Pavilion will transform the Riverfront Streetcar Stop into an iconic terminus experience, featuring an artistic metal canopy, sculptural lighting, and enhanced passenger boarding and waiting areas.

The design team was led by Burns & McDonnell and Zahner.

Construction of the CPKC Pavilion will begin later this year and continue through 2026. The KC Streetcar Riverfront Extension is currently 97% complete with construction and is anticipated to open in early 2026.

The KC Streetcar unveiled plans for its grand opening of the $352 million streetcar extension to UMKC. The extension officially started service in October and added 3.5 miles to the existing downtown streetcar route.
