Hawthorn Bank has hired Sandy Kessinger as its new senior vice president and commercial banker.

In her new role, Kessinger will work closely with business owners and financial decision-makers to deliver tailored commercial banking solutions that support business growth, according to a release shared with Ingram’s.

“The bank has significant momentum in the Kansas City metro and there’s a great opportunity to build lasting relationships and help area businesses thrive,” Kessinger said in the release.

With nearly 30 years of banking experience and several positions in leadership roles, Kessinger’s integration is a strategic move to strengthen Hawthorn’s presence in the Kansas City metro. Most recently, she was the senior vice president of commercial banking at Country Club Bank. Kessinger also served six years at Bank of Blue Valley and another 17 years at Bank Midwest in commercial banking positions, according to the release.

Hawthorn expanded its Kansas City metro footprint earlier this year with the addition of a full-service banking center in Overland Park. The bank opened its Shoal Creek location in the Northland in July 2024.

Founded in 1865, Hawthorn operates 18 locations throughout Missouri with nearly $2 billion in assets. Headquartered in Jefferson City, Hawthorn has several locations from the Kansas City metro to Springfield and Columbia.
