The University of Kansas City-Missouri has provided updates to three of its building projects.
Healthcare Delivery and Innovation Building
UMKC’s 160,000 square foot Healthcare Delivery and Innovation Building project first broke ground in September 2024. The $145 million building, located on the corner of 25th and Charlotte Street, is the school’s largest capital investment in history.
Video feeds displaying construction efforts for the project show a laid foundation and a steel beam skeleton of the building, according to a release. As part of construction, Charlotte Street between 24th Terrace and 25th Street will be fully closed until Aug. 24. Additionally, student parking at lot 68 will not be available.
Faculty, staff and students can park in the seven-floor Hospital Hill Parking Garage 28 on the southeast corner of 24th and Charlotte streets, just north of the site.
St. Joseph School of Medicine Campus
Construction has officially concluded for the UMKC School of Medicine Campus in St. Joseph. The school will host a grand opening for the campus on Wednesday, August 20th. UMKC broke ground on the St. Joseph campus in 2023. The campus aims to train and increase the number of medical professionals in rural areas.

Atterbury Student Success Center
The school began renovations for the center in May this year. Located at 5000 Holmes St in Kansas City, the center now features a permanent silent study area on the second floor of the library as well as a welcome center with a two-story atrium.
Additionally, the building will now host Admissions, Advising, the Center for Transfer Students and Adult Learners, Roo Advising, Career Services, Professional Career Escalators, University College and International Student Affairs.
Other projects from the school include the UMKC Conservatory’s expansion of the Olson Performing Arts Center, which raised half the funds for the first phase of its expansion in March. The project would add a 35,000-square-foot space to the Olson.
