The Lenexa City Council is reviewing a developer’s bond request that would support the next warehouse in the Lenexa Logistics Centre East.
Rennlink, LLC, is requesting approximately $9 million in industrial revenue bonds for the development of a 50,000-square-foot building at the southeast corner of 116th Street & Renner Boulevard. The Lenexa City Council is scheduled to review the request during its Tuesday meeting at 7:00 p.m.
If approved, the developer would receive a 71% tax abatement over 10 years. Additionally, Rennlink is asking for a payment-in-lieu-of-taxes (PILOT) agreement, which increases 2% each year of the abatement. During the first year of the apartment, Rennlink would only have to pay $7,197, and by year 10, pay $32,268.
The developer expects to complete the new building by the end of 2026.
Lenexa Logistics Centre East is one of three sites that make up Lenexa City Center. City Center East will feature office and residential over ground-level retail space, as well as a hotel, according to the City’s website. Rennlink purchased the land from its manager, Block Real Estate, earlier this year.
