Husch Blackwell announced it has brought on Erin Banks to take on the role of chief business development officer, a new position added to the firm’s executive team.

Banks brings with her more than 20 years of legal marketing and business development experience to Husch Blackwell. Before joining Husch Blackwell, Banks most recently served as the director of business development, practices at Reed Smith. She has held senior positions at other law firms, including Norton Rose Fulbright and Perkins Coie.

“She [Banks] has built high-performing teams, delivered measurable growth, and led law firms through competitive market shifts,” Husch Blackwell CEO Jamie Lawless said in a Tuesday release. “With Angela Quinn leading our Operations Division and Erin heading our Marketing & Business Development Division, we have a dynamic leadership team in place to drive the firm’s next phase of growth.”

The creation of this new position was announced in February during the firm’s strategic senior leadership restructuring. At the time, the company described that the new role would direct the marketing and business development division, while operations and services that most directly impact the client experience would be overseen by the chief operating officer, Angela Quinn.

“I look forward to helping build out the team that will partner with and support our attorneys as they help our clients solve their most complex business issues, and contributing to the firm’s expansion,” Banks said in the release. “There is incredible momentum at Husch Blackwell, and I’m excited to join a firm that is deeply committed to innovation, client service, and purposeful growth.”
