RED DevelopmentGross Revenue: 2004: $12,978,568 2001: $860,427 Growth 1,408.387% Full-time employees: 60Debuting last year as the top-ranked company on Ingram’s Corporate Report 100 list, RED Development is back for more. It specializes in developing, leasing, managing and owning lifestyle and power shopping centers in growing areas, in Kansas City and the Midwest, and in the Southwest United States. Managing Partner of Architecture and Engineering Jeff McMahon says the relationship with its existing tenants has been a critical part of the company’s growth. Most new projects that RED Development takes on come from an introduction through an existing tenant. That’s how you get in the top 10 two years in a row. |

Advantage PressureProGross Revenue: 2004: $1,373,982 2001: $114,872 Growth 1,096.098% Full-time employees: 6CEO Phil Zaroor says his company “built a better mousetrap,” but its biggest accomplishment may have been pointing out the need for a mousetrap. Advantage PressurePro markets and distributes a tire pressure monitoring system. When Firestone made the news a decade ago with defective tires that exploded when under too little pressure, PressurePro’s TPMS suddenly became a must-have. It is an after-market product that screws onto the tire valve stems, reads the pressure and transmits a wireless (RF) signal that alerts you when you have a low tire pressure. You also can get current pressures at any time by pressing a button. Advantage PressurePro has contracts with numerous manufacturers and governments. |

Anderson MacAdam ArchitectsGross Revenue: 2004: $1,355,108 2001: $131,801 Growth 928.147% Full-time employees: 6Sometimes timing is everything. When Mike Mac-Adam and David Anderson left their jobs so they could form a new company—on September 6, 2001—they had no idea what the future would hold. The world-changing events of five days later caused “several sleepless months,” according to MacAdam. But the subsequent recession and dropping of interest rates has helped this firm grow quickly. They focus 90 percent of their work in four areas: country club facilities design and renovation; healthcare-related work; retail and restaurant work; and high-end, single-family residential design, which is a result of their work with country clubs. |
